Ladies, you work, take care of family, exercise and handle multiple tasks daily. You are in desperate need of downtime. Get the most relaxing bubble bath ever with these essentials.

A bubble bath is something that you may have avoided all summer due to vacations, festivals, networking events, etc. When you look at your skin now, you think of how soft and touchable it was and now that the weather has become dry and bitterly all you want is to feel that skin again. Oh and let’s not forget getting the healthy mental mindset you were in during those beautiful months. However, you can get it back.

Lean Into a Bath Pillow

SPA Bathtub Pillow

A bathroom pillow is something that I had only seen on television until recently. I thought that it was only for those who had an income larger than mine, but I was definitely incorrect. Bathroom pillows can be purchased for a very small price thanks to stores such as HomeGoods, Amazon.com, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx and so forth.

Now when it comes to the type of bath pillows, you want to choose something that fits your price point, comfort level, and material. Also, if you have never implemented a bath pillow in your baths then I would suggest starting with the most basic type of bath pillow. However, if you want to take it up a notch and then you can choose a pillow that targets either your body pain level as well as the level of comfort you are seeking. Choose from either: head/neck, full-body, sides of the body or either an all in one. Whichever you decide on make sure that the longevity fits the price point. Now, let’s talk about fizzing bubble bath products.

Fizzing Bubble Bath Products

Grapefruit Rose Bath Bomb

Bubble bath solutions have come a long way since the late 80s and 90s. Back in the days, I remember using dish detergent, shampoo or dare my mother even splurge on the bubble bath solution for babies. FYI, The Dollar Tree wasn’t around when I was growing up so there weren’t that many cheaper alternatives for bubble bath solutions. As a child, we didn’t know anything about skincare. All we knew was that in order to create bubbles in our bath one of those three products would work. Now as an adult, I definitely want something that is not used of pots and pans, shampoo is still okay but I need moisturizing, muscle relaxing and a skin-softening bubble bath solution.

Nowadays there are many options that can get confusing such as bath bombs, liquids, creams, soaps and etc. And not only that but then you have the option of what you want the bubble bath solutions to do for you such as relaxing overused muscles, scents that calm your mind, bath bombs that soften and cleanse your skin and so much more. Basically you can choose whatever fits the occasions; date night with bae, pics for IG/website or just chilling out with your glass of wine. Speaking of wine…

Pour A Glass of Wine

2016 Santa Lucia Pinot Noir

I love incorporating a glass of wine (and sometimes a book or Netflix) during my relaxing bubble baths. Wine not only helps to impair your judgment which is needed after long and stressful days however it is physically and mentally relaxing. In between each sip of wine, there are a few minutes of ‘Thank Gawd this day is almost over’.

When it comes to choosing a wine on bath day, I suggest choosing a bottle of red wine. Red wines such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Shiraz are more of the dry side but really soothing when in a warm and wet environment such as your bathtub. Unlike white wine, red has the ability to relax your mind all the while ingesting health benefits such as antioxidants that may help prevent coronary artery disease. I used to love to drink a glass of white wine while soaking but then it wasn’t settling my mind. I found myself staring at the candles until the wick burned out and ended up being more frustrated than when I got into the tub so. Bath time is supposed to be one of the most enjoyable parts of the day which means you have to pair it with a glass of good wine.

Light Candles

No relaxing bubble bath would be complete without tea light candles. Tea light candles are small enough to fit into the corners of bathtubs, low in height so the flame doesn’t burn so tall and free which could create a fire, and like traditional candles, you can choose the scent and color for your mode.

When it comes to lighting these things the best time to light them is after the tub is filled with water, a glass of wine is poured and you’re ready to get on it. I suggest lighting these before you turn off the lights and never ever light these near shower curtains. As far as choosing scents, the most common ones would be:

  • Lemon for calming down anxious people who also feel run down

  • Lavender to relieve nervous tension such as headaches as well as depression

  • Jasmine or Peppermint to give yourself a boost of confidence which is great when prepping for an interview or the start of a new job
