Spice Up Your Thanksgiving With These Dishes Created By Chef Resha

Thanksgiving is a holiday that allows many of us to reflect and spend quality time with those we love- all while treating ourselves to amazing dishes. Growing up, I was always watching how my family cooked their Thanksgiving dishes- and now it’s my turn to contribute. In my hunt to spice Thanksgiving up, I wanted to share nine recipes that made my mouth start to water. If you’re feeling like shaking up it up, I’ve got some inspiration for you. All thanks to Chef Resha!

Chef Resha is one of those people who lives and breathes making mouthwatering food. A personal traveling chef and self-proclaimed “culinary unicorn,” she loves learning the science of food. She makes it her mission to create recipes that allow ingredients to work in unison. Her goal is to get more people inspired to cook and introduce them to different flavor combinations.

One of the first recipes I tried was the Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe on her website. It was my first time making cookies from scratch, and while following the instructions, I was nervous - I did not want to mess it up. But, when they came out of the oven all the hard work was well worth it. It was by far, one of the best cookies I’ve had. It was a no brainer I visited her website for inspiration

 Holiday Mac & Cheese

Mac and cheese is a classic and one you can’t afford to get wrong. I mean, nothing brings families closer than Macaroni and Cheese, especially when made to perfection! I’ve had my fair share of delicious mac and cheese and some that could have been better. But, all in all, it’s not an easy assignment and one that is heavily graded by others. This recipe makes sure that you have plenty of cheese, plenty of ingredients and guaranteed to be a surefire success this Thanksgiving. This dish alone will have you bragging when they ask, “Who made the Mac N Cheese?”

You did, and you did that.

Honey Dijon Glazed Ham

I know we all love a good Honey Baked Ham, but nothing beats a homemade holiday ham. The problem is, many don't know how to make them! Well, you're in luck! It's time to skip that line this year and pour all that energy into creating this mouthwatering dish. I mean, you can smell this picture. And as a bonus, when you're on day 3 of eating leftovers you will not be mad you have to eat ham again.

Southern-Style Collard Greens With Turkey

Whenever I used to watch my grandma make greens, the process was so tedious and handled with care. I would watch her pick them, wash them (until the water was clear), season them to perfection, and then have to wait HOURS to try them. I was her designated taste tester, and I took that role seriously. With this recipe, you can proudly put the dish on the table and know your loved ones will be satisfied.

Ultimate Green Bean Casserole

Green Bean Casserole is one of the casseroles that get a bad rep at times. And, I can’t even lie and say I haven’t contributed to that rep. Every casserole I’ve tried has lacked substance, but I can guarantee you this recipe does NOT. Not only can you make this whole casserole from scratch, but you can also be the one who adds a little positive PR to this lovely dish.

Bourbon Sweet Potato Pumpkin Pie

Is it Thanksgiving without a delicious pie? I know the name is a tad bit misleading, but if you’re feeling frisky, give this recipe a try. Trust me when I say that Chef Resha knows the science behind combining sweet potatoes and pumpkin and has created a method that allows these ingredients to work in harmony. Plus, your dessert will stand out from the others- and we all want that.

Garlic and Herb Cheddar Bae Biscuit

Cheddar Bae Biscuits are the superior of biscuits. Loaded with cheese, they will melt in your mouth! This dish will be gone in 3.5 seconds once it’s time to eat and is a perfect side dish that complements the other dishes.

Remember, the family deserves to be eating cheddar bae biscuits. Give them what they deserve.

Southern Style Black Eyed Peas

Black Eyed Peas are a 50/50 with most families- you either hate or love them. Well, if you're feeling like being the converter this year, why not make a bowl of these and get everyone on one accord. Enjoyed with salt or sugar, it doesn't matter! As long as they're appreciated.

GARLIC AND LEEK CREME FRAICHE MASHED POTATOES

Mashed Potatoes are by far my favorite variation of the potato. I love how creamy they are and how they melt in your mouth. Whew, and if they have some butter…

I’m sorry, let me get back on track. The point is, you can never go wrong with mashed potatoes, and you WILL wish you made more. I mean, this picture alone is worth recreating.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes With Savory Cider Caramel.

Ah, another one of my favorite variations of potatoes. Usually, around the holidays, I don’t load up on these because the sugar intake is extreme. Don’t get me wrong. I love sugar! But it takes so much sugar to make these! But, with this recipe, Chef Resha gives you all the sweetness without all the sugar. I mean, why would you not want to try this?
