Alongside a new year is a clean slate, an opportunity for new beginnings, another year that YOU survived.


Here are five habits to consider adopting when starting off 2019:


1. Protect Your Energy

Trust your intuition when something does not serve you or brings you down! Nudge in your favorite activities into your schedule: time to laugh, binge watch your favorite show, write, dance, treat yourself!


2. Say It With Your Chest

Do not silence yourself in spaces dominated by people or energy that you cannot relate to. Learn to say NO. You’re not anybody’s mule.


3. Check In On Your Crew

Check in on your friends, ESPECIALLY your girls. We are all dealing with something. Listen to observe, don’t always listen to talk.

Remember that you are allowed to drop people that hinder you. You cannot make excuses for people or think you can change them. When people show you who they are, believe them.

4. Consistency

You ask yourself why your skin routine isn’t working or your curls aren’t poppin’ but you don’t even have a schedule? Fix it and that is all I have to say.


5. Try Something New

Find a new artist, try a new food spot, do something daring because….well, why not?
